Native American Education
The Native American Education Program of Fargo and West Fargo Public Schools advocates for Native American students’ success in school while providing cultural opportunity connections for students and families.
ELIGIBILITY GUIDELINES
Native American Education program services may be provided to any Native American student who:
- is enrolled in any of the West Fargo Public School District's educational settings
- has a signed 506 form on file in the Native American Education office
Title VI Grant requires:
- the student to be enrolled in a federally recognized tribe,
- and/or the student’s grandparent or parent to be enrolled in a federally recognized tribe
AVAILABLE SERVICES
- School supplies
- Cultural activities
- Provide positive Native American role model speakers
- GED fees
- Home visits
- Attend IEP and other student meetings
- School attendance support
- Advocating for Native American students and families in successfully resolving problems that they may have in the public school system
PARENT COMMITTEE
The Fargo and West Fargo Native American Education Parent Committee meets virtually the second Tuesday of each month school is in session from 6:00PM - 7:30PM. For more information about the committee meetings, please contact Native American Education Coordinator, Melody Staebner at (701) 446-1054.
