Weekly COVID Updates from WFPS: January 19, 2022
REMINDER: Masks Required on School Buses
Federal law requires anyone using public transportation, which school buses are considered, to be masked while onboard. This includes bus rides to/from school, for activities, for field trips, and shuttles between buildings. If a student boards the bus without a mask, one will be provided for them. If your student is riding the bus, please help us by encouraging them to wear their mask consistently and correctly while on the bus.
REMINDER: COVID Protocol Updates
Positive Cases
- WFPS has set our own calculation for isolation timeframes. It is more stringent than what the state requires in some instances, but is more straightforward to administer, provides for a shorter window when the positive case could be back onsite while still infectious, and hopefully encourages individuals to get tested sooner than what we’re currently seeing. NEW CALCULATION: Positive cases are required to isolate for five days, which starts the day AFTER they test positive. The five-day isolation is followed by five days of required mask-wearing.
- The district will no longer be monitoring quarantine timeframes or testing regimens for individuals identified as close contacts (social or household). Close contacts should follow this guidance as set forth by the ND Department of Health.
