Midthun Named First District Activities Director for WFPS

West Fargo, ND – (June 29, 2022) – It is with great pleasure that Mrs. Beth Slette, Superintendent, and Mr. Vincent Williams, Secondary Assistant Superintendent, announce Mr. Logan Midthun has accepted the position as the first District Activities Director for West Fargo Public Schools.

Mr. Midthun began his career in education in 2011 with Killdeer Public Schools, where he served as their high school physical education teacher and Activities Director. He also served as the Activities Director for Williston Public Schools and Big Lake Public Schools before accepting the Dean of Students & Activities Supervisor position at Horace High School in 2021. He holds a master’s degree in educational leadership from Minnesota State University-Moorhead, and a bachelor’s degree in health and physical education with a coaching minor from Valley City State University.

After interviewing and subsequently selecting Mr. Midthun from a pool of highly qualified candidates, Mr. Williams stated, “Mr. Midthun’s professional experiences as a teacher, coach, and Activities Director across districts of varying sizes and demographics make him well-equipped to help WFPS finetune not only this position, but the future of activities for all learners at all schools in our district. Whether it’s carrying on the traditions at Sheyenne and West Fargo High Schools or helping to create those traditions at Horace High School, I am confident in Logan’s excitement for the challenge.”

“Our entire community values student engagement, whether that is through fine arts, cocurricular clubs, or athletics,” stated Supt. Slette. “I am proud of our Board for seeing the addition of this position as the next step in our journey of providing equitable engagement opportunities for all learners.”

Mr. Midthun will assume his new position with West Fargo Public Schools on July 1. The search for his replacement at Horace High School will begin immediately.
