West Fargo, ND – (August 10, 2021) – It is with great pleasure that Dr. Rachael Agre, Elementary Assistant Superintendent, and Mrs. Tabatha Joyce, Eastwood Elementary School Principal, announce Mr. Tom Gruchow has accepted the position as assistant principal for Eastwood Elementary School.

Gruchow started his career in education as a first grade teacher at Eastwood Elementary School in 2015. In 2018, he transitioned to fourth grade and then became Eastwood Elementary School’s dean of students in 2019.

Gruchow holds a master’s degree in educational leadership and a bachelor's degree in elementary inclusive education, both from Minnesota State University Moorhead.

After selecting Mr. Gruchow for the new position, Mrs. Joyce said, “Mr. Gruchow is a well-respected educator at Eastwood Elementary School. His ability to develop meaningful relationships with students, staff, and families has had a positive impact on the culture at Eastwood. While serving as our dean of students, he has proven himself to be a compassionate and dedicated leader whom we will now be fortunate to call our assistant principal.”

Mr. Gruchow’s former position as the dean of students has been reclassified into the assistant principal position and will not be backfilled.
