Weekly Risk Level Status Check: Week of November 16
The district’s executive leadership team, School Board President, and lead school nurse continue to meet weekly with representatives from Fargo Cass Public Health and Essentia Health to discuss COVID-19 data and trends specific to Cass County. This information will be used to make any warranted adjustments to the district’s learning model and safety protocols.
The information provided by Fargo Cass Public Health in this week’s session can be found on the Cass County & State of North Dakota Data webpage.
Based on the information shared by healthcare partners and the district, there are no proposed adjustments and the district’s status will remain as hybrid, with elementary buildings continuing to transition to additional onsite days for students.
NOTIFICATION OF COVID-19 CASES
As we continue to refine our data collection process, the goal is to share data in meaningful ways on a regular basis with our stakeholders. In last week’s stakeholder update, it was shared that a new process was being defined to make case data available once a week via our website versus sending a generic message via Blackboard email to families and staff each time a new case was identified within a building.
Starting today, the WFPS District Data webpage will be updated every Tuesday and will replace the generic Blackboard email messages that were being sent every time a new positive case was identified in a building. This webpage also replaces the "Data from WFPS" section of our weekly update to stakeholders, as the webpage is more comprehensive.
For now, the data sets that will be shared are:
- Number of student positive cases and quarantines per building. Student quarantines documented by the school district include close contacts from school, close contacts from social settings/outside of school, household close contacts, and childcare center exposures.
- Number of staff positive cases and quarantines per level (elementary, secondary, and non-instructional facilities). Staff quarantines documented by the school district include close contacts from school, close contacts from social settings/outside of school, and household close contacts.
Both student and staff data sets will be timestamped and will reflect the number of individuals currently out of school/work due to a positive test or a mandated quarantine.
