The district’s executive leadership team, School Board President, and lead school nurse are meeting weekly with representatives from Fargo Cass Public Health and Essentia Health to discuss COVID-19 data and trends specific to Cass County. This information will be used to make any warranted adjustments to the district’s learning model and safety protocols.

Data from FCPH
14-Day Rolling Average of New Cases = 71.14/day in Cass County; 401.57/day across the state.
% Positivity Rate = 6.62% in Cass and 7.29% across the state
The hospitalization rate continues to be high across the state.
Our 14-day case rate per 10,000 people in Cass County is 54.7.
Active positive cases remain highest amongst the 20-29 year old age group, which encompasses college students and young professionals.

Our current numbers as of 8AM on 10/05/20 are as follows:
Positive COVID Test Result: 22 students and staff out
COVID-Related Quarantine: 221 students and staff out
Exhibiting COVID-Related Symptoms: 171 students and staff
Based on this information, there are no proposed adjustments and the district’s status will remain as yellow hybrid. However, based on recent discussions at the national, state, and local levels about the hybrid model, the School Board will be considering a change to the district’s Return to Learn plan at their October 12 meeting that will allow more students to be onsite while the county is in the yellow risk level.
