West Fargo Public Schools Names Assistant Principal for Cheney Middle School
West Fargo, ND – (May 6, 2021) – It is with great pleasure that Dr. Allen Burgad, secondary assistant superintendent, and Mrs. Amber Rudolph, incoming principal for Cheney Middle School, announce Ms. Candida Braun has accepted the position as assistant principal for Cheney Middle School.
Braun began her career in education in 2000 as a science teacher at Grand Rapids High School in Grand Rapids, Minnesota. While employed in Grand Rapids, she also spent one year as interim high school assistant principal and taught remedial science courses at the Grand Rapids Learning Center. She joined West Fargo Public Schools as a middle school science teacher in 2010 and was named the dean of students at Cheney Middle School in 2016.
Braun holds a bachelor’s degree in fisheries and wildlife biology from the University of North Dakota, a master’s degree in science education from the University of Minnesota, and a specialist degree in educational and administrative leadership from St. Cloud State University.
After interviewing and subsequently selecting Ms. Braun, Mrs. Rudolph said, “As dean of students, Ms. Braun has fostered an environment focused on positive relationships and a love of learning. Her ability to connect with students, and their families, and identify their needs has led to increased levels of engagement and student success. Additionally, she is a strong advocate for creating inclusive and welcoming learning environments that support both the students and the staff.”
Ms. Braun will assume her new role on July 1, following Mrs. Rudolph’s transition from assistant principal to principal.
