Horace Back-to-Back State Debate Champions

West Fargo, ND – (February 9th, 2024) – Horace Forensics is proud to announce a Championship in Debate for the 2023-24 School Year. This is Horace's fifth fine art State Championship in the last year and a half.

“It was a team effort, and it was the result of consistency over the course of the entire season. The state tournament was just a snapshot into a phenomenal year for Horace Debate” stated Head Coach Nathan Amberg.

Furthermore, at the NSDA National Debate Qualifier, Maggie Dick & Jordan Graves qualified in Public Forum. Jayla Ridout & Corinne Schmidt are the Fourth Alternates in PF. Nora Aeilts is the Second Alternate in Lincoln Douglas.

Individual State Tournament Results:

Public Forum Division 1 Debate:

  • Consolation Bracket Champions and Quarterfinalists - Griffin Terras & Ethan Frisch
  • Quarterfinalists - Maggie Dick & Jordan Graves

Lincoln-Douglas Division 1 Debate:

  • Runner-Up - Nora Aeilts
  • Semifinalists - Veda Voegele, Nadir Mohamed, Levi Gorden

Public Forum Division 2 Debate:

  • Runner-Ups - Maron Kpadeh & Amour Mach,
  • Semifinalists - Lucy Scherbenske & Jayla Ridout, Isabel Flanagan & Charlotte Lovejoy

Lincoln-Douglas Division 2 Debate:

  • Semifinalist - James Mueller
