The district’s executive leadership team, School Board President, and lead school nurse are meeting weekly with representatives from Fargo Cass Public Health and Essentia Health to discuss COVID-19 data and trends specific to Cass County. This information will be used to make any warranted adjustments to the district’s learning model and safety protocols.
The following information was provided in the August 11 session:
14-Day Rolling Average of New Cases = 18/day in Cass County; 103/day across the state. We are still down from the peak we experienced in June but are expecting the rate to go back up in the coming weeks with the return of college students to the metro and the start of school.
% Positivity Rate = 2.33% in Cass and 2.68% across the state
The hospitalization rate is increasing, especially outside of Cass County. Cass County continues to take patients from outside our area, which is why our rate is increasing. Available beds and ventilators are still at a very good number.
Our 14-day case rate per 10,000 people in Cass County is 12.81.
FCPH will look into creating a ND metric that could be utilized by this team to make decisions on the timeline for a full reentry.
Based on this information, there are no adjustments proposed for the district’s status.
