Sheyenne High School Teacher Honored as ND FCCLA Advisor of the Year

West Fargo, ND – (April 20, 2022) – Mary Jo Anderson, educator at Sheyenne High School, was honored as ND FCCLA Advisor of the Year. She was honored at this year's ND Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) State Conference held April 16-18th in Bismarck.

Anderson started the Sheyenne chapter of FCCLA in 2009 and went on to mentor other WFPS schools to start their programs. Each WFPS middle and high school now has a program. Anderson received the Master Advisor Award at the National FCCLA Leadership Meeting in 2015 and the Advisor Mentor Award at the meeting in 2016. She has advised learners as they completed service projects that supported the Ronald McDonald House, the YWCA, and many more groups. During her time as the program advisor, WFPS FCCLA learners have competed at the district, state, and national level. They’ve attended leadership meetings at those same levels and held officer positions at the local, district, and state level.
