Food Service Employees Recognized for Excellence in School Nutrition

West Fargo, ND – (September 20, 2022) – The North Dakota School Nutrition Association has recognized two district employees for their excellence in school nutrition and their leadership within the West Fargo Public Schools Food Service Department.  

Sheena Lee, Food Services administrative assistant, has received the North Dakota School Nutrition Association Employee of the Year Award. Ms. Lee’s nomination recognized her role in the onboarding of new food service employees, the design and content of department newsletters, and her creative approaches in showing staff appreciation. She has been with the district since 2018.

Lisa Wiest-Meyer, cook manager at South Elementary School, has received the North Dakota School Nutrition Association Manager of the Year Award. Ms. Wiest-Meyer’s nomination recognized her dedication to the district, her participation in transitioning to student self-service areas in the cafeteria, and her role in implementing a repackaging program for leftover foods. She has been with the district since 2010.

The North Dakota School Nutrition Association (NDSNA) is an organization with more than 300 food service employees throughout the state, and is an affiliate of the national organization, the School Nutrition Association (SNA). In conjunction with the SNA, the NDSNA promotes the highest standards for children nutrition programs, lobbies members of Congress for legislation based on childhood nutrition needs and provides leadership training and professional development opportunities to members.
