District Launching Equity & Inclusion Task Force; Places Call for Members
West Fargo, ND – (February 23, 2021) – West Fargo Public Schools is launching an Equity & Inclusion Task Force to examine all aspects of the district, provide district leaders with feedback regarding current practices, and propose possible solutions and suggestions for district consideration. The task force and its members will assist in creating a vision for equity and inclusion in West Fargo Public Schools.
In preparation for its launch, the district is looking for participants to serve on the task force to share their time, perspectives, experience, and expertise with the focus of ensuring equitable educational experiences for staff, students, and families. Participants many be high school students, parents/guardians, staff members, community partners, or other district stakeholders.
The task force will meet 14 – 18 times, starting at the end of March 2021 and concluding by June 2022. All meetings will be held online from 6:30PM – 8:00PM, with the day of the week being determined by final members’ preferences. Each meeting will be structured to include a topic presentation by a department leader, small and large group discussion, and an exit survey.
APPLICATION PROCESS
Those interested in joining the task force are encouraged to submit the online application by 11:00PM on Sunday, March 7. Individuals can also be recommended to the task force by others. Those wishing to recommend an individual to serve on the task force are encouraged to submit the online recommendation by 11:00PM on Sunday, March 7. Individuals will be notified via email the week of March 15 if they are chosen to serve on the task force.
