West Fargo, ND – (June 8th, 2023) – It is with great pleasure that Dr. Rachael Agre, Elementary Assistant Superintendent, and Dr. Erin Spies, Legacy Elementary School Principal, announce that Chelsea Midthun has accepted the position of Assistant Principal at Legacy Elementary School.

Midthun has nine years of experience in education and began her role as an instructional coach with WFPS in 2021. Midthun has held classroom teaching positions in multiple grade levels outside the district. She has also served as a facilitator for a Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS) committee. Additionally, Midthun is the acting Dean of Students for the Extended School Year program for WFPS and a facilitator for the North Dakota Personalized Competency-Based Learning (ND PCBL) Steering Committee. Midthun holds a master’s degree in educational leadership from Minnesota State University Moorhead, and a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Dickinson State University. 

After interviewing and subsequently selecting Mrs. Midthun, Dr. Spies stated, "Mrs. Midthun brings with her a wealth of knowledge and expertise in PCBL and instructional practices. Her experience as an elementary teacher, instructional coach, and ND PCBL facilitator will provide great insight and support to our Legacy community as we continue our PCBL journey.”

Midthun will assume her new role on July 1st, 2023.
