Freedom Elementary's Schaefer Named Psychologist of the Year
West Fargo, ND – (September 19, 2023) – West Fargo Public Schools is proud to announce that Terese Schaefer of Freedom Elementary was named the North Dakota School Psychologist of the Year at the annual North Dakota Association of School Psychologists (NDASP) conference. The award is given in recognition of outstanding performance in the delivery of school psychological services.
When informed of the award, Director of Special Education Rachel Kjonaas shared, “Terese consults and collaborates with teachers, administrators, and families to design and implement effective interventions and instructional support. She also contributes to systems-level services such as school-wide positive behavior support, mental health promotion, and professional development. She adheres to the highest standards of professional ethics, practices, and development. Terese is well-respected and appreciated by her colleagues, learners, and parents. She is always willing to go the extra mile to help others and to advocate for the best interests of her learners. She is a leader, a mentor, and a role model for the school psychology profession.”
