West Fargo, ND – (July 6th, 2023) – It is with great pleasure that Dr. Rachael Agre, Elementary Assistant Superintendent, and Jody Sjolin Nelson, Principal at South Elementary, announce that Matthew Borgmann has accepted the position of Assistant Principal at South Elementary.

Mr. Borgmann has 17 years of experience in public education and has been with West Fargo Public Schools since 2007. He has worked most recently as the Dean of Students at South Elementary since 2017. Borgmann has classroom teaching experience at the elementary level, has served as a Multi-Tiered Support Systems Team member, and led the Building Emergency Response Team. Borgmann holds a master’s degree in curriculum and instruction from Minnesota State University Moorhead and a bachelor’s degree in education from MSUM.

After interviewing and subsequently selecting Mr. Borgmann, Ms. Sjolin Nelson stated, "Mr. Borgmann is skilled in relationships. He connects with learners, educators, and families, building trust and advocating for the South community. His well-rounded knowledge and work in all facets of the educational process and West Fargo systems support his future success in serving South Elementary as the Assistant Principal.

Mr. Borgmann assumed his new role on July 1st, 2023.
