Hulbert Aquatic Center To Host USA Swimming Futures Championship
West Fargo, ND – (July 19th, 2023) – As one of only five facilities selected to host a USA Swimming Futures Championship meet this year, the Hulbert Aquatic Center, in cooperation with the West Fargo Flyers, will host the meet July 26-29th. Around 600 athletes from 39 states will be represented at this event, with a projected economic impact of more than $1,000,000 on the local economy. Tickets are available for purchase at the door.
"This meet is the final stage in the USA Swimming Championship Series before Junior Nationals. Athletes competing in this meet have been invited based on their previous performances and will have the opportunity to race toward time standards that would qualify them for swim meets such as Junior Nationals or even the U.S. Olympic Team trials! It is not uncommon for athletes to break age group national records in these meets as well." stated Gerald Brown, Aquatics Director for the Hulbert Aquatic Center. “The Hulbert Aquatic Center last hosted this meet in 2021 and saw a local economic impact of greater than $845,000 over the course of the 4-day meet. With higher registration this year, we expect this meet to have an economic impact exceeding $1 million.”
The meet will take place from July 26-29th, with preliminary sessions beginning at 9 a.m. and finals starting at 5:30 p.m. Additional event and ticketing info is available on the West Fargo Flyers website at: https://www.teamunify.com/team/ndwffs/page/upcoming-national-meets/2023-futures. The event will also be live-streamed. Other locations selected for USA Swimming Futures Championship meets in 2023 include Sacramento, California, San Antonio, Texas, Richmond, Virginia, and Ocala, Florida.
