    Harwood Learner Earns National Recognition

    Duane O’Neill, of Harwood, ND, received the 2023 Yes I Can Award for Academics from the Council for Exceptional Children (CEC). Duane was honored March 3rd along with other Yes I Can recipients at the CEC Convention and Expo in Louisville, KY. Duane was unable to travel to Louisville and was instead presented his award during an all-school assembly this week at Harwood Elementary in front of staff, his family, and peers.

  •  Two Sheyenne High Debate team members

    Sheyenne High School Debate Members Make National Tournament

    Two members of the Sheyenne High School Debate Team nationally qualified in Public Forum Debate at the NSDA North Dakota Roughrider National Debate Qualifier Tournament held at the Ramada Inn in Fargo, ND. This is the second year in a row that Hosna Dawlaty and Vidyaa Lav have qualified in the Public Forum Debate. They will be representing West Fargo Sheyenne High School and Team North Dakota in the National Speech and Debate Tournament that will be held June 11th-16th in Phoenix/Mesa, Arizona.

    West Fargo Public Schools Recipient of $5,000 Donation from Haley's Milk Run

    West Fargo Public Schools recently received a $5,000 donation from Haley’s Milk Run, a local nonprofit focused on providing milk to elementary school learners throughout the region. Three area school districts – West Fargo, Fargo, and Moorhead – each received a donation of $5,000.

  • West Fargo High School Learners Earn Art Honors

    Three West Fargo High School learners earned honors at the Concordia High School Art Exhibition. Awards were announced at the closing reception on Tuesday, January 17th, 2023. Theo Anderson won Best in Show and received a monetary award along with a scholarship to attend Concordia. Alexander Fowler and Emily Visto won two of the four honorable mentions and a small cash prize.

    The Red River Valley Writing Project and the Department of Visual Arts at NDSU in conjunction with the Plains Art Museum has announced the winners of this year’s Scholastic Art & Writing Awards! Five Sheyenne High School learners earned honors in writing and 24 in art.

    WEST FARGO PUBLIC SCHOOLS DEPARTMENT OF BEHAVIORAL HEALTH AND WELLNESS AWARDED NEARLY $12 MILLION GRANT

    The West Fargo Public Schools Department of Behavioral Health & Wellness has been awarded more than $2.3 million per year for five years under the School-Based Mental Health Services Grant Program. This funding will be used to hire 21 full-time staff to provide mental health services across the district, purchase new equipment to accommodate these services, and provide mental health training to existing staff to support all learners.

Robert's Award in speech and debate coaching excellence after achieving at least 10,000 points in the National Speech and Debate Association National Honor Society.
