Listed below are dates of the first day of tryouts for the Sheyenne boys golf team. The season start date is determined by the North Dakota High School Activities Association (NDHSAA). Tryouts take place the first two to three days of practice. If an athlete misses the tryout window, they cannot participate on that year's team.

Dan Wolf
Dan Wolf has been the head boys’ golf coach at West Fargo Sheyenne High School since 2016, helping guide the Mustangs to state championships in 2021, 2022, and 2023. Previously, he served as Co-Head Coach for both West Fargo and West Fargo Sheyenne with Chuck Gad from 2015-2017, helping coach West Fargo High School to a state championship in 2015. Coach Wolf also serves as the head girls’ golf coach at West Fargo Sheyenne High School as well as coaching girls' and boys' basketball at Liberty Middle School.
Dan graduated from Minnesota State University – Moorhead in 1996 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Social Studies Education. He was one of fifty teachers nationwide to be awarded the James Madison Memorial Fellowship in 2002. In conjunction with his Fellowship, he completed his Master of Education – History Education degree at North Dakota State University in 2004. He has taught in West Fargo since 1996 and currently teaches 8th grade social studies at Liberty Middle School.

Dakota Junior Golf Association
The Mustang coaching staff recommends that all players participate in some type of summer golf tournaments to aid in their development as a golfer. We particularly recommend that current and prospective Sheyenne golfers participate in summer tournaments sponsored by the Dakota Junior Golf Association. PGA Minnesota Junior Golf
The Mustang coaching staff recommends that all players participate in some type of summer golf tournaments to aid in their development as a golfer. The mission of the Minnesota PGA Junior Golf Association is to provide playing opportunities for the advanced, intermediate and beginning golfer, ages 7-19. These playing opportunities will promote competition and camaraderie. The Minnesota PGA Junior Golf Association is sponsored by the Minnesota Section of the Professional Golfers’ Association of America, Inc., a non-profit corporation chartered in the state of Minnesota.
