SCHOOL DESCRIPTION:The Osgood Kindergarten Center opened its doors in 2009-2010.
The Osgood Kindergarten Center is an educational facility for kindergarten students living south of Interstate 94 along with 3 first grade classrooms and 5 ECSE rooms. Students living north of this line will attend the Clayton Lodoen Kindgergarten Center.
Our day will begin at 7:50 and dismiss at 2:30. There will be a breakfast and hot lunch program for those who choose to participate. Our staff includes 18 classroom teachers (15 Kindergarten, 3 First Grade), 5 ECSE, 3 resource teachers, 2 speech and language pathologists, a media specialist, a counselor, 2 interventionists, 1 ELL teachers, 2 physical education teachers, an art teacher and a music teacher. A school psychologist, an occupational therapist and a physical therapist are available on a part time basis.
We provide an age appropriate curriculum for literacy which includes reading, writing, speaking and listening expectations. Everyday Math provides the foundation for our numeracy curriculum. Special units in science and social studies, along with other topics of interest, are included throughout the school day. We follow the West Fargo Elementary Behavior Plan, which introduces social skills and expectations, and we reinforce positive behaviors. Our students participate in physical education, music, art and library on a regular basis.
We, along with the Clayton Lodoen Kindergarten Center, are proud to provide the foundation for learning in the West Fargo Schools!
Note: Students who live more than 0.9 miles from the kindergarten center will be eligible for bussing. Transportation for students who live closer than 0.9 miles will be the responsibility of the parents. Preschool: Preschool at Osgood is currently for Special Needs students only (those on an IEP).
