High School Summer School

  • Registration for Session 1 of 2019 summer school will be held March 13 – March 22.

    Registration for Session 2 of 2019 summer school will be held March 25 – April 12.

    All classes for 2019 summer school sessions will be held at West Fargo High School, 801 9th St E, West Fargo. Classes are from 8:00AM – 2:30PM, Monday – Friday of each session.  Due to the condensed schedule, student attendance is required for all 10 days of the session. 

    Students not currently enrolled at a West Fargo Public School must also return the Out of District Parent Registration Form to West Fargo High School.

    All classes are at West Fargo High School. Transportation will be provided from Sheyenne High School, leaving the front of the building at 7:30AM and arriving at West Fargo High School by 7:50AM. The shuttle will return students to Sheyenne immediately following the end of summer school class. No other transportation is provided for regular summer school classes.

    Daily Schedule

    Classes begin promptly at 8:00AM and will dismiss at 2:30PM. Students will be given one break and lunch during the day:

    • 9:45AM – 10:00AM: a snack with milk or juice will be provided free of charge
    • 12:00PM – 12:30PM: one lunch option will be provided free of charge. No items will be available for purchase (except vending machines).

    Closed Campus

    Students will not be allowed to leave the building during the day, unless permission is given by administration. This includes lunch. Snacks and lunch will be provided at no charge.


    Summer school covers a large amount of material in a short amount of time; this makes regular attendance crucial. Due to the condensed schedule, attendance is required all 10 days unless an emergency occurs.

    Student Behavior

    Summer school differs markedly from the regular school term in that participation of students is entirely voluntary. Any student who, through tardiness, absenteeism, poor work habits or classroom disturbance, distracts from the summer school experience instead of adding to it, will be sent home and dropped from the course.


    Students may not use lockers during summer school.

    **Must provide special circumstances to be eligible for summer school physical education. Beginning with the Class of 2021, students are eligible for only one summer school physical education course for high school credit.
