Legacy Elementary School Intramurals
The intramural program for elementary school students is supported by fees charged to student participants. A portion of the fees is used to pay the coaches. All coaches are WFPS personnel or other qualified adults.
Parents need to pick up their student(s) in a timely manner after the activity concludes. Leaders will assist students that need to call for a ride or to check on status of a ride.
Information on activities being offered for 2017-2018 will be published as it becomes available.
Jr First Lego League (Grades 1-3)
FIRST® LEGO® League Jr. (Jr.FLL) is designed to introduce STEM concepts to kids while exciting them through a brand they know and love − LEGO®. Teams of up to 6 kids explore a real-world scientific problem such as food safety, recycling, energy, etc. Then they create a Show Me poster that illustrates their journey of discovery and introduces their team. They also construct a motorized model of what they learned using LEGO elements. In the process, teams learn about teamwork, the wonders of science and technology, and the FIRST® LEGO® League Jr. Core Values, which include respect, sharing, and critical thinking.
Team meetings will be Tuesdays from 2:30-4:30 pm March 6 – May 22, with one Wednesday meeting on March 28 due to parent teacher conferences. The end of the season celebration will be held Tuesday, May 22 from 6:30-7:30 pm in the school cafeteria. The club fee is $40 and can be paid to LEGACY PTO at our first meeting.
