Now Accepting Elementary In-District Transfer Requests!
The Last Day to Submit Your 2018-19 In-District Transfer Request is Tuesday, August 7 at 4:00 PM.
Families can now submit in-district transfer requests online! Parents access the electronic form by clicking HERE, or via the link at the end of this section. Paper copies of the form can still be downloaded and printed from the website, or requested from the school office.
While final review and action on any in-district transfer requests for 2018-19 does not occur until after fall registration in August, we ask that you submit your request as soon as you decide. This early submission will help us plan for appropriate staff at each school. Please submit one electronic form for each elementary-aged child that you would like considered for an in-district transfer, effective for the 2018-19 school year.
If you already have an in-district transfer in place for your child, we would still like you to complete the new electronic form. This is NOT a reapplication, merely a way for us to confirm where you want your child to attend school starting this fall.
If you are new to the West Fargo school district, please check your address on our district map to determine which school your child will attend for this school year. To register your child(ren), please call the school indicated on the map to be your home school. Please note that students in K – 5, 6 – 8, and 9 – 12 attend different schools; having multiple children of different ages may require you to call more than one school.
North Dakota Century Code 33-06-05-01 requires any child admitted to school be required to receive the immunizations according to the recommended schedule set forth by the state department of health. Any child not adhering to the recommended schedule must provide proof of immunization or a certificate of immunization within 30 days of enrollment or be excluded from school or an early childhood facility.
If you know of a child between the ages of 0-21 that lives in the West Fargo School District, who may have a disability and who is receiving no special services, please contact our Special Education Department at (701) 356-2003.
Kindergarten Early Entrance
North Dakota Century Code requires that students entering kindergarten in the fall must be five years of age on or before July 31. It is the intent of West Fargo Public Schools to admit children into kindergarten who do not meet the August 1 age requirement, but do meet the December 1 age requirement and who successfully pass West Fargo Public Schools early entrance evaluation criteria (NDCC 15.1-06.01). Please contact your resident elementary school to request additional information related to early entrance procedures and timelines. The application form and questionnaire is due no later than April 15, 2019 for the 2019-2020 school year.
