District Mission

  • Educating all learners for tomorrow’s world.

Individual Learning Device Program Goal

  • Creating engaging experiences for all learners that support their academic literacy as well as preparing them for college, career, and life.

Vision for Learners

  • West Fargo Public Schools has established a vision to prepare all learners with knowledge and skills to be compassionate and contributing citizens in a rapidly changing world. To achieve this vision, we have identified essentials skills in our Profile of a Graduate that we are striving to develop in our learners. These skills include collaboration, responsibility, resiliency, compassion, reflectiveness, communication, creativity, and critical thinking.

In order to achieve this goal, it is essential for learners to have immediate access to mobile technology enabling individual learners to acquire new knowledge and apply it through relevant learning experiences.

Learning Anytime, Anywhere

  • learning anytime, anywhere Engagement can be elevated when learning is personalized through the effective, mindful use of technology in the classroom. Engagement through a digital learning experience allows students to interact with content in a variety of ways preparing them for their future careers.

With digital devices, students have the ability to access classroom content, resources, digital textbooks, video lectures, collaborate, and complete projects more readily. Accessibility tools provide all students opportunities to support individual needs and abilities. Built-in creation tools enable students to demonstrate and provide evidence of learning in authentic ways.

Digital communication tools are a part of the world. These tools can enhance learning through collaboration and communication, while deepening the thinking of students. Our learning management system (Schoology) provides a platform to support communication and collaboration with the classroom teacher. Students can receive guided feedback throughout the learning process.

Focused digital learning interactions give students an opportunity to ask (as well as answer) questions, problem-solve, think critically, and gain a deeper understanding. Technology can help transform the teacher from a director of learning to a facilitator of learning, creating valuable learning opportunities that otherwise would not be accessible.
