DDBB-AP: Paid Holidays

New Year's Day, Good Friday, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Veterans’ Day, and Christmas Day shall be considered paid holidays for classified twelve-month staff. If a holiday falls on a Saturday, the preceding Friday will be observed as the holiday. If a holiday falls on a Sunday, the following Monday will be observed as a Holiday.  Paid holidays apply only to employees scheduled to have worked the week preceding and/or after the designated holiday. An employee on leave without pay for the week will not receive holiday pay for any holiday occurring during that work week. The paid holidays shall be designated on the employee’s annual work calendar. After completing five years of employment with the school district, classified employees shall receive one additional paid holiday. This day shall be the Friday after Thanksgiving Day. After completing ten years of employment, classified twelve-month employees will receive another paid holiday per year. The holiday added will be Christmas Eve Day. After completing 15 years of employment, classified twelve-month employees will receive an additional paid holiday per year. The holiday added will be New Year’s Eve Day.
