DDA-AP: Sick Leave

Classified employees earn one workday of sick leave per month accumulative to 80 workdays.  A workday is defined as the scheduled hours per day each classified employee is to work as indicated on the individual's work calendar.  Swimming pool employees (except for the pool supervisor) are not eligible for sick leave.

Sick leave benefits can only be used as they are earned.  No cash payments for unused sick leave shall be granted.

Deliberate misuse of the sick leave policy shall constitute cause for dismissal.

Classified employees in administrative positions shall earn sick leave in accordance with benefits outlined for other administrative personnel.

An employee who is on leave without pay from the district for a period of more than 10 work days per month will earn no sick leave for that month.
