We believe that teaching is both an art and a science. We believe in a district GVC: defined as clearly articulated, evidence-based, transparent, and measurable proficiency in knowledge, skills, and dispositions for each course for each grading period.

Learners move along a progression of learning based on their mastery of clearly articulated, transparent, and measurable proficiency in knowledge, skills, and dispositions.
What does a guaranteed and viable curriculum (GVC) look like in a personalized learning environment?
The focus is on critical thinking and purposeful content, with the district's Profile of a Graduate dispositions embedded. A progression of learning is utilized, with learners actively (80%) engaged in learning. Instruction and resources are culturally responsive and the level of Bloom's Taxonomy is appropriate.

What do assessment and feedback look like in a personalized learning environment?
Assessments are learner-centered and aligned to learning targets. A variety of formative assessments and performance tasks are utilized. Learners communicate their progress and next steps and learner conferences are evident. Feedback is timely, actionable, and relevant.
