Open Enrollment Process
Open enrollment gives North Dakota learners in other districts the opportunity to apply and attend West Fargo Public Schools. Although we try to accommodate individual requests to attend a specific school, it cannot always be granted and some schools are closed to open enrollment (see chart below). If a school, grade level, or program is requested that is closed to open enrollment, another West Fargo school may be offered.
The deadline to submit an open enrollment application for consideration is the end of the last working day of February for the following school year. An open enrolled learner’s school is not guaranteed and the application will be reviewed annually prior to the next school year. Your child’s school placement may change due to space availability.
Turn in the application to the West Fargo Public Schools District office at: Leidal Education Center, 207 Main Avenue West, West Fargo ND 58078
Families will be notified no later than August 15 regarding the status of their application.
Closed to Open Enrollment
- Any school building, grade level, or program may be closed based on space availability
– The District shall comply with all North Dakota High School Activities Association (NDHSAA) regulations regarding transfer student’s eligibility for NDHSAA sponsored programs and events.
