Who belongs to the PTO? All parents and teachers of Deer Creek Elementary
Why PTO and not PTA? PTO is an independent organization that believes every school is unique and has individual needs and goals, therefore all events including fundraisers benefit the local school. A PTA is a national organization that requires membership and dues. Events and fundraising efforts have to meet the national standards and a portion of the proceeds goes towards the national organization.
Deer Creek PTO Needs YOU! Nominations for President, Vice-President, Treasurer, Secretary, and Communications Director officer positions are open until September 27th.Complete the nomination form and return it to the office by September 27th. Join us for our next Deer Creek PTO meeting at 6:30pm on Monday, Novemberr 4th. If you attend the meeting, your children will be entered into a drawing to receive a popcorn party for their class! And as always, free childcare is provided.
The PTO will meet to decide how to use their funds on October 20th at 6:00pm at Billiards. Anyone who wants to join is encouraged to attend!
Fundraiser Pick Up
The fundraiser was a huge success! Our preliminary total of funds raised is $11,108! Please pick up the fundraiser items on October 30th from 2:45-6:00pm. ALL items need to be picked up at that time. The school has no way of storing frozen goods. We need parent volunteers to help with fundraiser pick up. A sign up sheet will be posted to the PTO Facebook page in the coming week.
RAISE SOME DOUGH! Thursday OCTOBER 10TH
We’re gearing up for our very first Papa Murphy’s RAISE SOME DOUGH night!!! Papa Murphys has generously accepted Deer Creek for one of their Thursday night “Raise Some Dough” events. The second Thursday of each month is ALL OURS!!! Deer Creek’s PTO will be the recipients of a donation from Papa Murphys ($3 per pizza) and it’s SO EASY to participate…you just need to eat some pizza for dinner that night!!
Students will be provided with a half sheet flyer which must be brought with to Papa Murphys on the day of the Raise Some Dough event - October 10th! When paying for your pizza purchase, provide the paper flier (put your teacher’s name at the bottom), and it’s just that easy!! The classrooms that have the most representation in the event will win a pizza party from Papa Murphys*! TAKE THIS FYLER WITH YOU October Flyer

Deer Creek's First Book Fair is Happening October 14-15
You read that right! Our very first Scholastic Book Fair will be held at school Monday, October, 14 and Tuesday, October 15. This is a great opportunity to score some reasonably-priced books and encourage reading at home. Volunteers will be needed to fill short shifts. More information will be sent out soon.
Bring us Your Box Tops
You can now find our PTO on the Box Top app!! You can scan receipts to earn box top rewards for Deer Creek! The PTO has voted to set a goal to earn $1,000 in box top money this year. We want to use that money to purchase a large popcorn maker for future events.
