• Mission Statement: The student council’s mission is to encourage a dynamic and positive environment in the halls of Horace High School. The student council shall coordinate activities of school clubs and organizations concerning the student body, in order to better school life, interests, and activities.

      Organization Expectations:

Any students from any grade are invited to be part of Student Council. Each grade level has a different number of students. The student body president and other officer positions are elected out of a members' vote. Each officer holds their office for one year.

Meetings take place on Thursdays before school. Members may not miss a meeting without an excuse. Members must check in advance with one of the advisors if they will be unable to attend the meeting. Attendance at major events is mandatory, especially since many of the events are important parts of the school culture.

Activities this club organizes and jobs it entails:

Plan and organize homecoming week, coronation, and dance.

Collect and pack cans and money for Fill-the-Dome.

Present and organize the Academic Awards.

      Winter Semi-formal.

Attend state student council conference in December.

Collaborate with administration to make any needed changes at the school.
