Inclement Weather Days
Our current instructional models provide the ability for learners to learn from home and staff to teach from home when weather conditions prohibit them from getting to school. Middle school and high school learners are expected to bring their device to school each day and home each evening in order to be prepared for an inclement weather day. Elementary learners are tasked with taking their device home as assigned.
NEW FOR 2023-24: The first time school is cancelled due to inclement weather will be treated as a true snow day, with no expectations, virtual or otherwise, for learners. That day will be made up on April 19, 2024.
Any inclement weather day after that would be a virtual learning day, as we've done the last two years. Inclement weather schedules are in place for the elementary, middle, and high school levels. All synchronous sessions in Microsoft Teams are recorded for learners who miss the session. Attendance is entered in PowerSchool based on synchronous attendance and/or work completion.
Note: If an elementary teacher is out ill (on medical leave without a long-term substitute in place) on an inclement weather day, the building principal provides guidance on Seesaw. If a secondary teacher is out ill (on medical leave without a long-term substitute in place) on an inclement weather day, secondary teachers post their assignments for asynchronous learning in Schoology.
