Westside Elementary School

  • Westside Elementary School provides an age-appropriate curriculum for literacy, math, science, and social studies. Students participate in physical education, music, art, and library on a regular basis. The school follows the West Fargo Elementary Behavior Plan, which introduces social skills and expectations, as well as implementing a building-wide positive reinforcement behavior plan.

    BUILDING HISTORY

    Westside Elementary School was built in 1977 and has received two separate additions (1983, 2003). The building occupies a 13.4-acre site in northwestern West Fargo and has a preferred capacity of 528 and a maximum capacity of 600.

    Westside Elementary School is home to the Westside Wildcats. The school belongs to the Packer feeder-system; students move on to Cheney Middle School and West Fargo High School.

    The building’s principals have included: Gerald Hagen (? – 1987), Louise Dardis (1987 – 1999), Carol Zent (1999 – 2007), Beth Slette (2007 – 2011), Tabatha Joyce (2011 – 2019), and Chris Kalsow (2019 – present).
