Welcome to Freedom Elementary School!
-
Freedom Elementary School provides an age-appropriate curriculum for literacy, math, science, and social studies. Students participate in physical education, music, art, and library on a regular basis. The school follows the West Fargo Elementary Behavior Plan, which introduces social skills and expectations, as well as implementing a building-wide positive reinforcement behavior plan.d
Our school is named in honor of Veterans and our close proximity to Veteran's Boulevard. We are known as the Freedom Flyers and the American Flag represents our school mascot colors. The Freedom faculty believes in the vision of Every Child, Every Day – which means helping every student display positive attitudes, improve academic performance, and positioning for a promising future. Our school Pathways To Success outlines that we are ‘All In’ so that every adult and every student counts in developing good relationships built on mutual respect, care, trust and high expectations. We believe that the little things we do every day add up to create the whole and our students need to know we are committed to understanding them as individuals and caring about their personal circumstances in order to improve academically, and that building a culture of caring provides the necessary framework for how we implement 21st Century Learning Skills. We are here to serve, support and care! Please contact us with any questions on how we can assist you in your transition to the Freedom family. Go Flyers!

National Blue Ribbon School
-
In 2018, Freedom Elementary School was one of 349 schools in the nation and one of three in North Dakota to be named a Blue Ribbon School by the U.S. Secretary of Education, Betsy Devos.
Each year, the U.S. Department of Education recognizes a group of schools across the country as Blue Ribbon Schools.
The Blue Ribbon program, which has been running for 36 years, honors schools where students either achieve very high learning standards or make substantial improvements in their learning. The Education Department designated all three North Dakota Schools as “exemplary high performing” schools.
The Department of Education’s Blue Ribbon Schools application asks about each school’s leadership philosophy, instructional methods, curriculum, and testing; how it engages and motivates students, their families, and the community; how it provides a positive learning environment; and other data, including its location, enrollment, demographics, and how many students have disabilities or are eligible for free or reduced-price meals.
