Regulations & Procedures

- Hulbert Aquatic Center does not provide towels, please bring a personal towel when attending classes.

- All participants must register for group swim lessons online, payment is required in full at the time of registration. No walk-ins or telephone transactions will be accepted. Specific registration details are available on Hulbert Aquatic Center’s website.
- Registration will be open until the Friday before the lessons are scheduled to start or until the classes have been filled.
- Once registration is closed, no new registrations will be accepted.
- Any class that does not have a minimum of three students registered when the registration window closes is subject to be canceled by the facility. Participants will be notified via email of the class cancelation.
- All level changes or class transfer requests must be submitted at least 72 hours prior to the first class. Hulbert Aquatic Center will do it is best to accommodate any transfer requests as class space allows but does not guarantee requests will be able to be fulfilled.
- If a parent/guardian requests a level transfer after a session has started, a $10 transfer fee may be assessed.
- Instructors may recommend transfers on the first day of class. If this occurs, there is not a transfer fee and Hulbert Aquatic Center will do it is best to accommodate any transfer requests as class space allows but does not guarantee requests will be able to be fulfilled.
- Participants do not automatically advance to the next level after each session, each participant must complete the required skill in order to advances. Hulbert Aquatic Center strongly discourages registering for another session of lessons before the current sessions you are enrolled in could lead to improper level placement.
- Cancelations, refunds, and makeup classes;
- All cancelation and refund requests must be submitted via email to hulbert@west-fargo.k12.nd.us
- No refunds will be given if participant registration is canceled within 5 days of the class start date or after the session has started.
- No refunds or makeup classes will be offered for participants that miss class due to other activities, family events, missed classes, or vacations.
- If a class is canceled by the facility, all efforts will be made to offer a makeup class, but such arrangements are not guaranteed.
- Hulbert Aquatic Center reserves the right to cancel any class at any time, refunds will be issues when entire sessions are canceled by the facility.
- Hulbert Aquatic Center reserves the right to terminate a participant’s registration if management feels the participant is endangering others, demonstrating inappropriate behavior, abusing the facility, or display aggressive behavior towards other individuals. Any participant displaying these behaviors will be asked to leave the facility and their registration will be terminated, no refunds will be issued in this situation.

General Swim Lesson Guidelines
- A parent or guardian must be present at all times during the lessons to provide a visual supervisor of the participant.
- We recommend that participants should come dressed ready to swim.
- All participants must bring appropriate swimwear and a dry towel to each lesson.
- Goggles are recommended for all levels excluding Parent/Child classes.
- Clothes, street shoes, and other personal items can be stored in the locker room or brought with you into the pool area. Please bring your own lock if looking to secure valuables.
- It is recommended that participants with long hair pull it back and secure it to keep it from interfering with any part of the lesson.
- On the first day of lessons, the instructors will call class rosters out loud on the pool deck. If you do not hear your name called, please see a Hulbert Aquatic Center representative at the front desk to review the class rosters.
- Each participant's skill knowledge and performance will be evaluated on the first day of lessons to ensure all students are at the appropriate level. If the instructor recommends a different level placement, the participant's parent/guardian must contact the Programming and Staffing Supervisor immediately to inquire if modifications can be made for that participant.
- One parent or guardian is required to be in the water and participating in each class when enrolled in a Parent/Child level.
- All non-potty-trained children must wear a disposable swim diaper. Please review Hulbert Aquatic Center dress code for specifications.
- Lesson participants are prohibited from entering the pool before class and must exit the pool immediately after the class has concluded.
- Parents/guardians are asked to notify their assigned instructor of any medical conditions that the participant may have that could affect the lesson.
- If a student defecates in the pool, Hulbert Aquatic Center staff shall follow all Cass County Public Health Code guidelines and will notify the participants of the incident. After the first incident, the participant is required to wear a swim diaper. If these incidents occur multiple times may result in dismissal from Hulbert Aquatic Center swim program.
