Program Description

  • Mission Statement: The student council’s mission is to encourage a dynamic and positive environment in the halls of West Fargo High School. The student council shall coordinate activities of school clubs and organizations concerning the student body, in order to better school life, interests, and activities.

    Organization Expectations:

Students from each grade are elected through a general election of the students in their grade. Each grade level has a different number of students. Freshman have five representatives, sophomores have six representatives, juniors have seven representatives, and seniors have eight representatives. The student body president is elected out of a full school vote and is counted as one of the eight senior representatives. Each representative holds their office for one year.

Meetings take place during period eight and after school. Members may not miss a meeting without an excuse. Members must check in advance with one of the advisors if they will be unable to attend the meeting. Attendance at major events is mandatory, especially since many of the events are important parts of the school culture.
