Program Description

  • DECA is a co-curricular career and technical education (CTE) student organization composed of voluntary members, with Marketing Education teacher-coordinators acting as advisors.

DECA students learn to serve as leaders and have the opportunity for state and national recognition that they might not otherwise receive.  The local DECA chapter is the "showcase" for student achievement and progress and is the public relations area of the Marketing Education Instruction Programs.

DECA focuses on many different areas of study. Students are able to prepare real-life projects inside the classroom and then compete in the following events at State to have a chance at qualifying for Nationals:

    • Marketing, Business Management, Finance, Entrepreneurship, Hospitality and Tourism, Business Law and Ethics, Buying and Merchandising, Sports and Entertainment Marketing, Accounting Applications, Apparel and Accessories Marketing, Automotive Services Marketing, Food Marketing, Hotel and Lodging Management, Human Resources Management, Marketing Management, Retail Merchandising, Business Service Operations Research, Business Plans, Marketing Campaigns, Professional Selling, Virtual Business, and the Stock Market.
