  • Students to Represent West Fargo in UND Musical Festival

    West Fargo, ND – (April 12, 2021) – Students from West Fargo High School and Sheyenne High School have been selected to participate in the University of North Dakota’s Honor Band, Choir, & Strings Festival.

  • District Meets Demand with School Lunch Repack Pilot Program

    West Fargo, ND – (April 7, 2021) – From March 8 – March 31, West Fargo Public Schools repacked leftover meals from the district’s Food Service Department and distributed them to students through the Liberty Middle School food pantry program. More than 86% of the repacked servings were claimed by students in the one-month pilot program.

  • Vasichek Receives District's Classified Staff of the Year Award

    West Fargo, ND – (March 30, 2021) – Surrounded by colleagues, friends, and family at a surprise ceremony this afternoon, West Fargo Public Schools’ lead school nurse was honored with the district’s prestigious staff award. Lisa Vasichek, lead school nurse, was awarded the 2021 – 2022 Classified Staff of the Year Award.

  • Camacho Receives District's Professional/Licensed Staff of the Year Award

    West Fargo, ND – (March 30, 2021) – Surrounded by colleagues, friends, and family at a surprise ceremony this afternoon, a West Fargo Public Schools’ reading teacher was honored with the district’s prestigious staff award. Jessica Camacho, a reading teacher at Deer Creek Elementary School, was awarded the 2021 – 2022 Professional/Licensed Staff of the Year Award.

    CTE of today has morphed into a vision of cutting-edge, rigorous, and relevant career and technical education programs that provide opportunities for students to explore and prepare for careers after high school. Curriculums aid students in identifying career pathways that lend to industry certifications, technical degrees, military, and college degree programs.

  • The Value of Community Collaboration

    The longer I am in education, the more importance I place on the value of collaboration. The school cannot solve today’s problems alone and relies on community partnerships to fill gaps. West Fargo Public Schools (WFPS) has had the privilege of working with many outside entities to solve problems like poverty, childhood hunger, closing the achievement gap, mental health, and preparing today’s learners for tomorrow's world.

  • Return of Grade 6 - 12 Students for On-Site Instruction

    West Fargo Public Schools recently adjusted the instructional model to provide four days of on-site instruction for all students in grades 6-12. Provided that our district and community continue to see a decline in COVID-19 cases, quarantines, and the positivity rate, the district will continue planning for full reentry (five days of on-site instruction for all secondary students) starting the week of February 15.

    A frequent wondering is the respectful terminology to use for the original people of America. This question and its associated conversations point to the glorious fact that we can all benefit from more cultural competency and a deeper understanding of the diverse nations that account for 3% of our amazing school district.
