  • Kindergarten Preregistration

Preregistration for West Fargo Public Schools kindergarten will occur from 4:00PM-7:00 PM on Monday, March 30 and Tuesday, March 31.

All families must complete the electronic preregistration form; this can be done offsite by visiting, or by visiting your neighborhood school and using a device there.

Each registered child must provide a copy of a current immunization record, proof of identity (birth certificate, visa, I-94, or other government-issued ID), and proof of residency. These documents must be presented in person during the preregistration window; parents are not able to submit electronic copies at this time. Preregistration is still possible without these documents.

Children must be five years old on, or before, July 31, 2020 to attend kindergarten in 2020-2021.

If you do not know which school your child will attend, enter your address online at

  • Results of District's Cognia Review

Every district in the state of North Dakota is required to have an external review every five years by a team consisting of trained educators from across the nation. Cognia (formerly AdvancED) does this work in over 35,000 schools in over 80 countries. The goal of our reviews is to help districts improve outcomes for ALL learners. On January 13, 2020, we received the results from our November review.

  • Protecting & Empowering Ourselves

While schools remain the safest place for our children to spend time, there are no guarantees that violence will never happen in any school in the country. Therefore, we must empower ourselves to prevent and/or protect against such events occurring here.

  • Why Standards-Based Grading?

Our world is changing rapidly as we enter an era fueled by exponential advances in technology, medicine, transportation, manufacturing, and energy. All the while, our society tends to resist change and innovation in one area: education. Why is that? Why is a change in how we “do school” so hard to accept? We all have it ingrained in our minds what school looked like, sounded like, and felt like when we were young. Why change a system we all know and understand?
