  • 2022 Sheyenne HS Graduate Receives National Merit Scholarship

    West Fargo, ND – (August 3, 2022) – In September 2021, the National Merit Scholarship Corporation announced the names of approximately 16,000 semifinalists in the 67th annual National Merit Scholarships Program. Sheyenne High School’s Henry Christiansen was among those selected as semifinalists.

    West Fargo, ND – (July 31, 2022) – Members of the Sheyenne High School FCCLA chapter recently joined more than 7,000 Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) student members, advisers, and guests at the annual National Leadership Conference.

  • USDA Waiver to End, Meal Charges to Return in the Fall

    In May 2021, the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) announced an extension to an existing waiver that has allowed West Fargo Public Schools to serve free meals to all students for the duration of the 2021 – 2022 school year. Now, we have received confirmation that the waiver and its free school meal benefits are set to expire at the end of the school year, resulting in the return of full priced meals for the coming school year.

  • School Safety & Security at West Fargo Public Schools

    Earlier today, December 7, 2021, West Fargo Public Schools and the West Fargo Police Department held a joint press conference on the topic of school safety. This community conversation was precipitated by the threat of school violence directed at Cheney Middle School (CMS) last evening that resulted in all CMS students learning virtually from home today.

We are on the brink of what is going to be an amazing year of learning, growing, and building relationships. Today’s communication to families and staff is to make you aware that the district is moving from “masks optional” to “masks recommended for those unvaccinated” for the 2021-22 school year. We also hope that this message helps our families and staff to understand the “why” behind this decision, regardless of your opinion on masks.

    In their final meeting of the 2020 - 2021 school year, the district's Return to Learn Advisory Committee overwhelmingly recommended that the district evaluate the outcome of the June 2021 health and safety protocols to determine a plan for the 2021 - 2022 school year.
