Philosophy and Purpose
- The strength and conditioning staff at West Fargo High School is dedicated to developing student athletes both physically and mentally. Our overall goal is to improve athletic performance, prevent injuries, and develop confidence and mental toughness. Student athletes are trained in areas of: speed, agility, Olympic weightlifting, conventional weightlifting, injury prevention, plyometrics, core, balance, flexibility, cardio conditioning and various other exercises and drills. Training programs are adapted and phased regularly for individual student-athletes' needs and the demands for specific sports or activities. Check points of progress are measured periodically. The check points are: vertical jump, 10 yard dash-laser timed, agility test-laser timed, power clean, back squat, bench press, and power index (total weight / body weight).
