Jenni Stewart is in her 15th year coaching cheerleading and this is her 6th year as the Head Coach at West Fargo High School. Her teams have taken 1st place at the NDCCA Fall State Cheer Competition in both the 2010-11 and 2011-12 seasons. They also place 1st at UPA Nationals in February 2011 as well at 1st place at a variety of other competitions throughout the region.
She began coaching in New Berlin, WI where she helped to start a youth cheer program in her home town. The program consisted of 5th-8th grade girls who cheered for their middle school football team in the fall and competed in cheer competitions in the winter. Her teams took home a number of 1st place trophies.
Jenni moved to North Dakota in 1998 where she began coaching at Red River High School in Grand Forks as the assistant and competition coach taking 1st place at state (fall) her first year. She became the Head Coach at Red River in 2002 and worked with the team for two years before moving to West Fargo. Jenni helped begin the middle school cheer team at Cheney Middle School where the girls cheer for football in the fall and learn basic cheerleading skills.
Along with coaching, she has spent time serving as the secretary of North Dakota's state cheerleading board- NDCCA- helping to make decisions regarding North Dakota high school cheerleading. Jenni is AACCA certified and also received her Silver Level certification for cheer coaches through the National High School Federation for Spirit programs. She continues to take education courses on the latest in cheerleading safety and spirit management programs.
Jenni is a 7th grade social studies teacher at Cheney Middle School in West Fargo, ND.
