  • Lift 3 days per week. Check in with Mr. Ringdahl. 3:30-4:15. If you're not wasting time you should get done in about 45 minutes.

 

BASKETBALL STRENGTH ROUTINE

DAY 1

  • Sit ups 3 x 25
  • Flat Bench Press
  • Bent Row
  • Front Overhead Press
  • Curls
  • Squats/Leg Press
  • Toe Raise

DAY 2

  • Sit ups 3 x 25
  • Incline Bench
  • Overhead Dumbbell Press
  • Upright Row
  • Lunges
  • Leg Press
  • Toe Raises

DAY 3

  • Sit ups 3 x 25
  • Flat Bench Press
  • Bent Row
  • Front Overhead Press
  • Curls
  • Squats/Leg Press
  • Toes Raises
* 3 times through on each lift

STEPS TO BETTER SHOOTING

  • Body: a) bicycle stance; b) walk into shots (1-2 steps)
  • Shooting Pad: ball should not rest on palm of hand
  • Index Finger: in the middle of the ball
  • Guide Hand: a) Karate Kid-little gap between thumb and index finger; b) bring this hand to the ball
  • Wrist: flex wrist back to form a "V" shape
  • Power "T" with thumbs
  • Focus on target - right over the rim
  • Jump: high jump not long jump
  • Follow through: hold until ball hits net, rim or backboard

FREE THROWS

  • Line up shooting toe in the middle
  • Same number of bounces each time
  • Focus on target
  • Bend, extend, follow through
