SCHOOL DESCRIPTION:
As we move into our third year of educating the freshmen of the West Fargo School District, we are excited about the academic progress our students made in our initial years at Sheyenne. We believe the smaller setting at Sheyenne Ninth Grade Center as well as an academic house arrangement allows for stronger relationships between students and staff that ultimately enhanced student achievement.
A block schedule is used at Sheyenne to expand academic opportunities for students. These include remediation opportunities for students that are significantly behind their peers as well as increased access to electives.
Students at both ends of the academic spectrum have seen a successful beginning to their high school careers at Sheyenne. 98% of our students have advanced to West Fargo High School with 3.5 credits or more. We have also doubled the number of students that achieved an academic letter with a GPA of 3.80 or greater when compared to the freshmen experience at WFHS. We believe that Sheyenne Ninth Grade Center will continue to provide freshmen with the academic foundation necessary for a successful experience at West Fargo High School.
