Attendance

Attendance = Success

School attendance is critical to academic success. The West Fargo School District has an attendance policy that encourages students to be in school every day that school is in session. The administration realizes that there are times when it is impossible for a student to attend school. However, we will continue to reinforce the need for regular school attendance in order to insure a child's academic success. School Board Policy 5-2400 states "students must not be absent more than 20 days in a school year to receive credit for the year. Exceptions which may be approved include excessive illness substantiated by a statement from a doctor or other special circumstances approved by the principal. L.E. Berger School starts at 8:15 AM. The first bell rings at 8:05 AM to let children into the school building. All children must be seated and ready to start school by 8:15 AM."

"If your child will not be in school, please call L.E. Berger Attendance Line (356-2010) between 7:00-8:15 AM and state:"

  1. Name of your child
  2. Classroom Teacher
  3. Reason for absence

Unexcused and unverified absences result when a student skips school or if no phone contact has been made between home and school. Repeated unexcused or unverified absences or truancy may result in a referral to the Juvenile Authorities.

Let's work together to provide the children of L.E. Berger a fantastic education. Attendance really does equal academic success!
