Every morning students at Freedom will participate in our Wake up and Walk Program. PE Teachers, paraprofessionals, and other teachers join in to walk with our kids. We will be walking the trails around the school to earn Fit for Life Points. It will take approximately 15-minutes and kids join in as they arrive on the playground in the morning before school starts. Statistics show an increase in learning as a result of morning exercise. Physical activity programs are linked to stronger academic achievement, increased concentration and improved math, reading and writing test scores.

SCHOOL DESCRIPTION: Welcome to Freedom Elementary! We are proud to be your neighborhood school in the West Fargo School District located off of Veteran's Boulevard. As part of the recommendation given to the School Board by the district's Long Range Facility Planning Task Force, our neighborhood school officially opened its doors during the 2012-2013 school year with approximately 600 students. Our school is named in honor of Veterans and our close proximity to Veteran's Boulevard. To honor our Veterans, we perform a Hero Wall during Veteran’s Day week each year, along with our annual Freedom Veteran’s Walk/Run to raise snow removal funds for families that have a mom or dad deployed. Our students also pride themselves on performing other community service projects, such as our yearly Sanford Children’s Hospital blanket and penny donation drive and Fill the Dome Food Drive in order to practice our community spirit and citizenship skills. We are also proud that The West Fargo Exchange Club honored our facility by donating a Freedom Shrine of historical documents that are displayed in our main entrance. Our school focuses on R.I.C.K. expectations, which stands for respect, inclusion, compassion and kindness. We strive for working with our families as partners in education, and value the home and school connection. Please contact us with any questions on how we can assist you in your transition to the Freedom family. We look forward to our Freedom Flyers soaring to success every day! Go Flyers!
