Eastwood Elementary
Welcome
Hello Eastwood Students and Families!
My name is Dr. Paula Henry and I am Eastwood Elementary School's new Principal beginning July 1, 2012. I am honored to work in such a caring and committed school environment.
From the minute I walked in the door in March, I noticed something special about Eastwood School! Students were engaged in learning, and the feeling of the school was safe, caring, and respectful. I could see that working as a team, Eastwood's staff was committed to inspire all learners to reach their highest potential.
A bit about me professionally… This is my 20th year in Education. I have taught in all grades K through 5. I have my doctorate in Educational Leadership. The research and work I did as an elementary principal in St. Cloud focused on proven strategies for revitalizing at-risk students and urban schools with increasing challenges.
A bit about me personally… I grew up in St. Cloud Minnesota, however; I have lived and worked in Florida and Wisconsin. I have three great kids, one son who graduated as a teacher from Bemidji State and is now in the navy (Norfolk Virginia), and a son who graduated from Concordia College in Moorhead with a degree in accounting and now works for Cargill (Hopkins MN). My youngest, is a student at Regency Beauty Academy in St. Cloud. I love to read, run, walk, boat, golf, hike, travel, swim, bike, visit, and laugh. I heard that West Fargo is the best place in the world to do all of these activities!
I warmly welcome you. Please come and visit!
I will welcome your support and involvement in Eastwood's strong, child-centered school community. Most importantly, I would love to talk with you and share what I love about teaching and learning, with children at the heart of our purpose, and why I am honored to work in this community I will call home.
Eastwood Elementary will continue to be an amazing place where children are loved and learn. Thank you so very much for entrusting your children to my care.
As Coach Lou Holtz once said, "If enough people care anything is possible". I care and I believe anything is possible at Eastwood Elementary School.
Finally, enjoy each moment with your child. Listen, love, laugh, talk, and read with your child each and every day. Help them be a life-long learner. Never stop learning and loving.
Have a beautiful year.
Sincerely,
Dr. Paula Henry
