Parents to Lunch
Eastwood School would like to invite our families to join us for lunch during the school year. Typically we have set aside special times in order to allow parents to eat with their children. With the high number of students enrolled at Eastwood and the varying schedules that families have for work, we have decided not to designate a certain week but to allow you to come in any day of the week throughout the year to have lunch with your child. We just ask that you notify the office one day in advance (356-2030).
This is a time to enjoy eating a school lunch with your child and spending quality time together - bringing in fast food items during this time is not allowed.
Please pay for your meal at the office before you join your child for lunch and hand your ticket to the adult working at the computer scanner station in the lunchroom.

Why do some classes have recess before lunch?
To accommodate better supervision on the playground and provide enough time for our children to eat, some grade levels/classes will go outside for recess prior to eating lunch within their block. Please check with your child’s teacher to determine their exact eating time.
Improve student behavior on the playground, in the cafeteria and classroom.
Students waste less food and drink more milk. This leads to increased nutrient intake.
Improve the cafeteria atmosphere.
Children are more settled and ready to learn upon returning to the classroom.
