SCHOOL DESCRIPTION: Eastwood Elementary is located on the eastside of West Fargo. Eastwood has 22 classrooms of children in grades 1-5, enrolling approximately 500 students. Eastwood has been certified as a model implementation site for using the Boys Town Education Program, an education model that teaches social skills. Eastwood has a diverse population that represents many different cultures and languages. We embrace the idea that we are a school where our children demonstrate their Eagle Pride through positive actions, determination, good choices, and a willingness to help others. We strive for building positive and lasting connections with students and parents.
Each year, we have a wide variety of activities including a school carnival, math night, reading and physical fitness program incentives, and several after-school intramural activities including: bowling, basketball, tennis, badminton, volleyball, tae kwon do, hockey, soccer, football, and PE games.
Eastwood offers a challenging and quality educational program for our children, which includes enrichment opportunities, special services for special education and ELL, and opportunities for all children to explore, create, and learn. Our Eagles soar to new heights daily and apply what they learn!
Eastwood's mission is to provide the best possible education by supporting an environment that is conducive to academic, social, and physical development while maintaining each student's individuality.
Eastwood Elementary is recognized as a USDA HealthierUS School Challenge Gold Award Winning School.
The United States Department of Agriculture established the HealthierUS School Challenge as a way to recognize schools that are creating healthy school environments by promoting good nutrition and physical activity. Schools have the opportunity to become certified as Bronze, Silver, Gold, or Gold of Distinction Schools, depending on meeting rigorous and specific criteria.
