School Hours

The Aurora School hours are from 8:00 AM to 2:40 PM. Morning supervision occurs from 7:45-8:00 AM. Therefore, we ask students that walk or are dropped off at school to arrive as close to 8:00 AM as possible. Students may enter the school building at 8:05 AM when the first bell rings. Bus students and walkers are dismissed at 2:40 PM.

For safety reasons, all visitors need to check in at the office. Parents cannot go directly to their child’s room to drop off items or pick up their child. Children must be signed in and out of the office by a parent or guardian. We apologize for any inconvenience that this may cause you. Thank You!

At Aurora Elementary all children are empowered to explore, learn, and achieve making them Aurora All Stars! We hold high expectations and a strong commitment to excellence in academic achievement for all students.

We value caring, child-centered classrooms with orderly working environments. The cornerstones of our school are collaboration, Parallel Block Scheduling and a partnership with the community. Aurora Elementary provides a rigorous 1-5 core curriculum in reading, writing, spelling, math, science, social studies, and the fine arts. Students are provided enrichment or interventions through the parallel block schedule. Students receive differentiated instruction through flexible skill groups which parallel the curriculum and content in the classrooms.

Safety, respect, and responsibility guide our students' actions and reinforce a caring community.

The Aurora staff creates a positive, caring environment, and provides a safe, encouraging setting for the students to excel in. The teachers at Aurora are enthusiastic and motivated to find ways to make learning fun and meaningful. The principles of achieving, caring and exploring are encouraged in staff and in our students.
