ANNOUNCEMENTS:

2014-15 Boundary Information

  • As residents on the south side of the district, Aurora families know that we are experiencing exponential growth as a district and as a city.

When Legacy Elementary opens in Fall 2015, new school attendance areas will be necessary. Based on the location of Legacy (at 5150 9th Street W in West Fargo) and the projected enrollment at Aurora in 2015-16, it is likely that a portion of Aurora’s current attendance area will be reallocated to Legacy.

In order to limit transitions for families that reside within one of the areas earmarked for Legacy, the district has decided to house next year’s first graders from the following area at Osgood Kindergarten Center for an additional year: that area is bounded on the north by 40th Avenue West…on the south by 52nd Avenue West…by 15th Street West on the west…and by the Sheyenne River on the east.

While we hate to say goodbye to members of the Aurora family, we are excited about the changes in WFPS and at Aurora specifically!
  • Wake up and Walk Program - Every morning students at Aurora will participate in our Wake up and Walk Program. PE Teachers, paraprofessionals, and other teachers join in to walk with our kids. We will be walking the trails around the school. It will take approximately 15-minutes and kids join in as they arrive on the playground in the morning before school starts. Statistics show an increase in learning as a result of morning exercise. Physical activity programs are linked to stronger academic achievement, increased concentration and improved math, reading and writing test scores.
  • Students are encouraged to be Bucket Fillers Adobe PDF
