WFPS Administrator Named North Dakota AAHPERD Administrator of the Year

WEST FARGO, ND – (December 6, 2011) – The North Dakota Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance has announced that Beth Slette, former principal at Westside Elementary, will receive the 2011 Administrator of the Year Award.

Mrs. Slette was nominated by Dianne Loberg, Westside Elementary physical education and health teacher. According to Loberg, Mrs. Slette was very supportive of the morning walking program and was proactive in creating policies to help students make better lifestyle choices such as the Healthy Snack program and the use of non-food reward incentives. At Westside, students with birthdays celebrated their special day by "Sweatin' with Slette," a time that she would take them through stations in the gym. Mrs. Slette advocated a healthy lifestyle through example.

Mrs. Slette is currently the Director of Assessments & Federal Programs for West Fargo Public Schools.
